All Essential Skills educational software programs include a progress reporting system that tracks student achievement throughout each program. This feature provides an accurate reflection of how a student is performing in respect to the various skill areas within each program. Progress reports can be easily printed for individual students or an entire class.
Spelling Overview
Eight complete programs teach the spelling of more than 2500 grade-appropriate words. Every spelling program includes the Spelling List Editor that allows teachers to enter their own word lists. The level of these programs ranges from 1st through 9th grade. Also included in this subject area are two assessment programs. The graded spelling test measures written spelling ability, providing an accurate spelling grade level up to the end of grade 8. The diagnostic spelling test assesses the strengths and weaknesses of a students spelling ability.
Fun with Spelling Grade 1
This program uses sound blending and rhyming to teach 200 grade 1 spelling words. The Spelling List Editor allows teachers to individualize their spelling program by entering their own word lists.

Fun with Spelling Grade 2
This program uses a phonics approach to teach over 400 grade 2 spelling words. The word lists are grouped by short and long vowel patterns, consonant blend and diagraph patterns. It also allows teachers to easily create their own word lists.

Fun with Spelling Grade 3
This program uses phonics to increase accuracy in spelling of more than 370 grade 3 spelling words. The words are grouped into lists using 37 common spelling patterns such as long vowels, consonants and "r" with vowel patterns. It also includes the Spelling List Editor.

Spell Master Grade 4
Teaches the spelling and pronunciation of more than 500 grade 4 spelling words. Spelling is taught using long vowel patterns, digraph and diphthong patterns consonant combinations, "r" with vowel patterns and spelling stumpers. It also allows teachers to easily create their own word lists.

Spell Master Grade 5
Teaches over 500 essential grade 5 spelling words. 38 lists teach important spelling patterns for grade 5 such as igh, ion, eigh and ough patterns. Also taught are 35 pairs of homonyms. The Spelling List Editor allows teachers to individualize their spelling program by entering their own word lists.

Spell Master Grade 6
Teaches more than 500 grade 6 spelling words as well as grade-appropriate spelling rules. There is also a section to teach 21 sets of homonyms for grade 6. The ability to enter new word lists into the program allows teachers to continually challenge even the most advanced spellers.

Graded Spelling Test
This is a test of written spelling ability, providing an accurate spelling grade level up to the end of grade 8.
