Macintosh Network Installation

All of our programs come on a dual platform CD-ROM that runs on a Windows PC or a Macintosh computer. A Single user license requires the installation CD in the CD-ROM in order to run. The Lab Pack and Site License versions of the software can be installed on multiple workstations or in one location on any kind of network server. By installing the software on a network server, all the student's marks will be stored in the same location.

Read To Succeed Series

1. Insert the Read To Succeed Series CD into the CD-ROM drive.

2. Double-click the CD-ROM icon on the Desktop. This will open the CD-ROM in a new Finder window.

3. Double-click on the Install package icon and follow the on-screen instructions.

4. When prompted for the installation location, choose the network folder on which the program is to be installed. Once the install location is selected, follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

5. Create a shortcut for each workstation in order to run the program from the server.

Assessment Series

1. Insert the Assessment Series CD into the CD-ROM drive.

2. Double-click the CD-ROM icon on the Desktop. This will open the CD-ROM in a new Finder window. Open the OS 10.2 and up if you are running OSX or open OS 7.6.1 and up if you are running OS 9 and below.

3. Double-click on the Install icon and follow the on-screen instructions.

4. When prompted for the installation location, choose the network folder on which the program is to be installed. Once the install location is selected, follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

5. Create a shortcut for each workstation in order to run the program from the server.

Basic Skills Series

1. Insert the Basic Skills Series CD into the CD-ROM drive.

2. Double-click the CD-ROM icon on the Desktop. This will open the CD-ROM in a new Finder window.

3. Double-click on the Install package icon and follow the on-screen instructions.

4. When prompted for the installation location, choose the network folder on which the program is to be installed. Once the install location is selected, follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

5. Create a shortcut for each workstation in order to run the program from the server.

Note: Macintosh Runtime for Java (MRJ) 2.1 or greater will need to be installed if the workstations do not already come installed with it.

Registration

You will be prompted to enter a license number. Locate the license number on the sticker in your program package and type it into the space provided.

Note: For the character Ø, make sure you type the number zero, and not the letter "o".

Running the Program

• When the installation is complete, create a link or alias from the application program file on the server to the desktop of the workstation.

Note: If you do not hear any sound with the program then install the QuickTime Installer located in the QuickTime Installer located in the Quick Time Install folder on the CD. This will install Quick Time version 4 on your computer.

Note: It is recommended that the video display be set to "Thousands of Colors" or "Millions of Colors".
